So my KJ is a 2003 with 106K on the engine. When I step on the gas I get a high pitch noise from the engine like a bell ringing but constant betwee 1000-1500rpm. Any ideas? I was thinking idler pulley or maybe the water pump.

It could also be the belt tensioner pulley or the fan clutch.

How do I test for those things? I know its from the engine beacuse even when not moving and stepping on the gas I hear it.

Spray a little WD-40 or belt dressing on the belt to see if it goes away or changes any.
