I want to buy a good quality portable air compressor, something I can lug around the garage for light automotive work and some household repair work if needed. I would like to be able to use it to air up tires, run some basic air tools and if needed, a nail gun. I would like to stay around the 80-100 pound weight range so I can at least move this by myself if I have to. Wheels would be nice, but not necessary. I would also like to stay around the $250 to $300 US price range, that would work out to roughly $350 Canadian. So far, the one I keep hearing the most good opinions about is the Makita MAC2400 http://www.makitatools.com/en-us/Module ... spx?ID=462 Dewalt also seems to be mentionad a lot. I am not worried about the brand name, I have used Dewalt, Makita and Sears Craftsman in the past with no complaints, I just want something that will work and last and I do mind mind paying a little extra for that. I am also in Canada, so I pretty much have to stay with the larger name companies, we do not have smaller tool companies / suppliers / importers up here. Thanks. |

I have a Craftsman 5 Gal pancake compressor in my garage and I love it. I've had it for aprox 8 years and have had no issues with it. I've used it to run framing and finish nailers while doing stuff around the house. It's small enough were you can carry it around when needed and you can store it anywhere. Here's some others that they carry. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/s_10153_1260 ... ompressors |
