I love those old tear drop trailers-wouldn't mind building one (with an articulating axle and tongue-and at least 31's). I borrowed one once with my GF on a trip to the north shore, a little too small unless you are really really in love with the other person. |

My grandparents have one of those Chalet Trailers. Good product and comfortable, no leaks, good fit and finish. A tent trailer may be more practical (longer to set up, but you get more useable room inside. I prefer tents myself, does anyone know of a tent that goes on top of the roof rack? I have seen them before... |

that "Basecamp" is bada$$!! I need to see one in person. I've been trailer shopping lately and the airstream quality seems to be the best I've looked at yet. And for the $$, it should be! Pop-up is more my budget though, but I can dream, can't I? |

hi, i couldn't imagine pulling a medium to large trailer with the awful breaks on the KJ. Are there any issues? I feel like the KJ has trouble stopping itself nevermind stopping a trailer behind you.I know the KJ can pull up to 5k pounds... I don't have ABS either which I'm use to at this point on my other cars,could be my issue.. |

Getting a trailer with electric brakes, then putting a brake controller in your KJ is the way to go . I have no issues stopping with my trailer. (it's 2,000 ppounds)

thats an awesome trailer freedom, it looks almost exactly the size of our kj, if its a leaf spring set up you should lift it 2.5in. and get some tires to match yours  haha i can dream too

Nanette, that trailer is only 2000lbs? Interesting I though those always weighted more. What brand and model is it? I've been looking for a small trailer, but seems alot of them are still around 3500lbs. Which they KJ can do, but is alot of work. BTW, is that picture at Moab? |

I had a Casita at Moab last year. Rental from the military. Cost me $90 to rent it for six days. I will most likely have it again this year. EDDO, I think Moab was her first time camping in it and it does look like Moab campsite. |

Eddo, empty it's 1860 lbs. It's pretty much the size of the KJ. (they look cute together). It's got: toilet, shower, fridge, sink, microwave, heater, air conditioner, tv with dvd player and has room to sleep up to 4-5 depending on weight. Or two people and a dog comfortably. It sits totally level to a lifted KJ. Gas sucks and big/long hills aren't fun but it's been great. David is right, we did get it just in time for Moab where the picture was taken. Gotta say I loved the heater at night and loved it even more when the nasty wind was whipping around outside. That's an awesome teardrop in the first post. I love the Casitas too, this was just more convienent for us at the time. Tab's are neat but I wanted more than a port a potty. That Airstream rocks but is waayyyy too much money for me. Mine is a 16" Fun Finder by Cruiser RV, which is part of Double Tree RV. |

Hey guys, I've got a Keystone Zeppelin 181. It's an 05' last year they made them full fiberglass solid wall. The new ones are pop-outs, not my style. It's 18' hitch ball to bumper. Queen bed and loveseat, full kitchen, full bathroom, AC, heat, it's got everything. And all for 10k if you can still find them... Anyway it weights 3100lbs. has 10" electric brakes. A brake controller w/ an equalizer w/d hitch is all that's needed. The jeep pulls and stops just fine with the set-up right. |

I always thought my brakes were great, ive got the 4wheel disk though. Does good with our little boat. Around 2k. |

looks like dry weight on a 16 foot Funrider by Cruiser is 2080 pounds. and it has a cargo capacity of over 1600 pounds! That's a lot of trailer in a lightweight package... |

I was looking at the Airstream and drooling and then found a local dealer. When I was on his site I decided to look at his used ones. darn if he didn't have a 2005 Keystone Zeppelin used.

BlackOps, Yes it's bigger than mine. Looks like a late 05' or 06' trailer. It looks like the model 242. Probably 25 ft. in length and about 3600 lbs. Hence the reason it's probably more expensive. Go to WWW.KEYSTONERV.COM for the website. Click on Zeppelin and go to specifications. At the bottom you'll see 2004,2005,2006. You can click on that to see the other years. They never labeled my 181 in the 05' year just 04'. But they did make the 181 in early 05' and changed the bathroom vanity set-up. Pulling something at 25' is the maximum length for the jeep. Bit too much for my taste which is why I chose the 181 @ 19' long. Mine tipped the scale @ 3,020 lbs w/ full propane ( 2-30 lb. bottles holding 15 gallons total ). I never carry water in the fresh or blk. and gray holding tanks. Which are pretty large 45/35/35 gallons. Throw in my trailer gear @ 200lbs. and 2 in the jeep w/ personals for another 400 lbs. The jeeps got 3600-3700 lbs. to tow. If you start getting into a bigger trailer like that your weight will easily exceed the 4000 zone and more. Me personally I don't like to tow anything that's heavier than the tow vehicle. But I'm anal enough to always think safety first. Which if you search these threads is the reason I put the dodge ram towing mirrors on the jeep... ya gotta see that big thing behind you. PM me with your website, I'll send you pics of my trailer if your interested. There was one on ebay and I'm sure if you do a google search you'll find them too. Just not many left.
