You'd most likely have to special order it. One thing to keep in mind,. if you plan on adding a locker like the Powertrax No-Slip, there have been reports that they are alot less street friendly with a stick.

When I was in the market for one, they told me that no dealer had one on their lot anywhere within 300 miles (and when prompted, they said they searched within 3000 afterwards). That was back in December when I ordered mine. Apparently there have been some here and there, but for the most part, difficult to find. You'll probably have to special order it.

Searched within 3000 miles? REally? Because from MA that reaches pretty close to the entire 48 continental states. I'd believe 300 not 3000.

Seriously, the best way to get exactly the vehicle you want is to order it. Check out all the possible options at vehicles on the lot first. If you can find exactly what you want on a lot, great. If not, order it and find a way to wait the handful of weeks it takes to come in.

When I bought mine in February ('05 command-trac 3.7L), there were 3 available in all of Ohio. My dealer traveled almost 250 miles from Dayton to Cleveland to get mine for me. I have never seen another in person.

I really like the 6spd, though. It works well with the power band of the 3.7L. And it looks like the average MPG might be a bit better than the auto. I get 18-19 mpg in mixed driving.

Dealers stock what the think will sell, and apparently that isn't 6-spds. That, and the $1,000 discount over an auto cuts into their profit.

If you like sticks, I think you will be happy if you hold out for one....

That's pretty much how he described it, too. First they searched 300 miles and said "We can't find one." and didn't even offer any other option. When I said "I find that hard to believe that there isn't one anywhere, can you search further?". They came back and said that they searched 3000 miles, which should be the whole US. He then said something like "can we interest you in a wrangler?"

When he told me initially, I believed him, but after the hassles and total nonsense they fed me from the time I ordered the jeep until the time I picked it up, It's possible he made that fact up. But there are a relatively small number in the US, and certainly none in MA at the time, or they would have tried to get it for me. This was mid-December, too, so there very well might not have been any 2005 renegade 6speeds on the lot in the US at that time. (Norwood had a 4Cyl 6-Speed sport, but that sucked. Who in their right mind would get a 2 ton vehicle with a 4 cyl engine? that's just wrong...)

You could always get one made through the factory; it takes about 6 weeks though. I had to do that for a 5spd even.

I ordered mine (05 Renny) from the factory after finding about 3 in all of New England, all missing options I wanted or having too many options I didn't. I ordered her middle of February and got her the end of April. Took about 9 weekes for mine to come in. It killed me to wait that long, but definitely worth the wait! :D
