Where do you see that? I didn't find info on their site? Are you basing it on that it just fits within the rules of class 3? That sure would be killer though to see a hopped up, Hemi powered 100+ mph KJ!! ![]() |

maybe this will bring us more speed parts...I could use more horsepower and low end torque. |

I hate to break it to you guys, but i know for a fact a KJ can do 100+ outhout a hemi. At least on the highway it can. I've never been over 105 though... those goodyears scare me. |

I've never been over 105 though... those goodyears scare me. No question about it but off road it Would Never reach that speed before the whole front end exploded. The class rules allow use of any engine that is available in a Jeep (if I read correctly) and in a high speed off road racing competition it would be killer to have the Hemi. I am sure with proper drivetrain and suspension mods the 3.7L will go fast off road, but I doubt it would be very competitive against the big HP vehicles. |

It does do over 100. I got it up to 110 just the other day. I got to a hill and got it up to 115. But that was it. I civic passed me and I said that just isn't right. So I stayed on him the whole way. It was nice. |

Look in the 2006 rules section on the jeepspeed site....way at the bottom. Now is the time for someone to develop some new A-arms.I think the 3.7 would do just fine. The object is to finish. The Liberty package is much stronger than the XJ. |

The front diff wouldn't stand up to being airborne and hard landings....stupid aluminum. The governor is set at 115, don't ask me how I know. |

when you're 18 you have a need to find these things out for yourself...I did it on worn out goodyears...bad idea...those goodyears made the jeep look like it had a lot more power, powerslides on dry pavement from a stop... even my offbrand a/t's handle better on road than those POS's |

Good work! I love speeding in my liberty. Mainly because...well who is gonna expect a liberty to fly by them?!? Sometimes i just pass civics and other sporty cars just to see if they will use their car to the limit like i tend to do. Ah the joys of open highway road way! |

That is great! All it would take would be a couple of dedicated sponsors and some available KJ owners to get some excellent after market parts. Racing does indeed reap rewards for the every day "Joe." Looks like JeepSpeed will be getting some more involvement... |

hmm, KJ with a SFA and a 4.7.... could be fun. Wish I had the money to do something like this. |

a 4.7 actually looks like a fairly doable swap as the 3.7 and 4.7 are the same basic block. Get an electric fan in front of the radiator, the 4.7 harness and ECU and an aluminum radiator and you're set... |

Many in jeepspeed are two wheel drive....so the front diff is a non problem.I've seen them run in Laughlin Nev.They are not the fastest in the desert but put on a good show. |

Looks fun! Wouldn't IFS be better for this kind of racing? |

Hate to break it to you guys....but the KJ IS afterall a Jeep....personally, I couldn't care less how fast it goes. If I want speed, and rumbling horsepower I'll go get a Mustang or something. My KJ usually sticks the speed limit and cruises in the quiet areas....its not a race car...its a Jeep. Sorry, no offense to anyone who may take my opinion as that....just a thought. ![]() |
