Post subject: | 2007 KJ Traction Control, ABS and BAS Lights |
Hey everyone...I have a 2007 KJ and my wife and I went camping and I put the jeep into 4Lo for the first time since I have owned it. Got to our camp site and enjoyed our weekend. Coming home I drop it out of 4LO and the lights that were activated when I put it in 4Lo never went out. The list is....ABS, Traction Control (yellow skidding jeep one), and the BAS light int he top left. Any ideas? Is it just stuck light wise in 4LO? My 2003 would do that sometimes to me with 4hi and 4lo. Joe |

check the wheel speed sensors behind each wheel for a pinched or broken wire. the one time i took mine out wheeling in florida i had all the same lights on after the trip also. i looked at all 4 wires closely - none were broke but i noticed the the right front wire had a flat spot in it . went to the dealer and spent 14 bucks on a chance that it was the cause, got home pulled off the wheel , brake caliper and rotor , unbolted the sensor and tried to twist/ pull it out.... it broke off in the hub bearing. got the drill and 1/8 inch bit drilled a hole in it about a 3/8" deep and ran a wood screw thru it, little wd40 and a hard pull and it came out. yeah i got lucky , i've seen people fight these for a while only to drop chunks down in the bearing and that really gets things messed up. anyways i put it back together and all fixed ! no more lights. so if you see any flat spots in the wire , near the bumpstop-coil spring get a sensor , take it apart , but do not twist the sensor out of the hub bearing! pull straight up soak with wd40 , pull some more |

Thats what i was thinking as well so thanks for the info!!! when cycling the ignition the abs light and the BAS light cycle off. The Traction control light stays on and then it triggers the other lights to come on. I am going to try and get under it here soon, I started with the fuses and they were fine. joe |

Had this happen on my 2007 as well. Ended up being the passenger rear ABS harness - no tweaking of the sensor required. I bought a connector kit from the dealer for $14 and re-built that portion of the harness. Cleared it right up. Been meaning to make a "how-to" as I took pics and whatnot. I'll try to get it written sometime this weekend. |
