I've got a set of Stauns and they have performed flawlessly over the last two years since I bought them. http://www.staunproducts.com/benefits.php
I put them on and in about 5 mins all 4 tires are aired down to 18 PSI. Makes getting on the sand so much easier. But I never leave them on

Now I use a set of Trailhead deflators (http://www.trailheaddeflators.com/product.htm). They come in set of four and once set to the desired air pressure easy to use. Just screw them on and light up a cigarette while you wait.

Your probably not unscrewing the core completely. I have this unit and it works great, air down in minutes.

That is what it was. I went to the beach again today and unscrewed completely...it was fast. Got all 4 done in minutes. Also caught a sting ray today, put up a good fight.

FWIW, The liberty is awesome on the beach.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/95202_410.htm So I bought this product and it claims to "rapidly" deflate the tire. Well it is painfully slow, does anybody else have this problem? I am thinking about calling ARB to find out if this is normal. Thanks

Thats the one, thanks for that. That was fast, I wonder if I am not unscrewing the stem all the way. I will have to do some driveway testing later.

There's a few different deflator products on the market, the Oasis kit that gives you 4 units you that you set to a desired psi, screw them on and let them deflate...(I know some beach fishermen that screw them on and drive onto the sand while they are deflating) There's an Aussie guy that has a unit called the Ferret that doubles as a key chain, he claims his unit is the fastest at 1 pound per second of deflation. The ARB is probably the better choice since you have a very good and easy to read pressure gauge attached right to the deflator, might not be the fastest, but why be in such a big hurry, make sure you deflate to the proper psi on all 4 before rolling over soft sand......

From what I've read the ARB deflator (http://www.arbusa.com/Products/Tire-Accessories/40.aspx)allows you to deflate a single tire at a time, yeah that could take a long time. Removing the valve stem is a quick way to deflate however yes it's easy to lose the little bugger (so carry lots of spares, they're cheap) and it's too easy to let out too much air. My first idea was a homemade "octopus" consisting of four hoses meeting at a single manifold. It deflates all four tires quickly but re-inflating all at once takes a while on my 12 v air compressor. And the hoses get pretty stiff in severe cold temps. Now I use a set of Trailhead deflators (http://www.trailheaddeflators.com/product.htm). They come in set of four and once set to the desired air pressure easy to use. Just screw them on and light up a cigarette while you wait. At $69 it's about the same cost as what my "octopus" cost me to make and can easily fit in my glovebox. I still carry the "octopus" to even out my tire pressures. Sometimes on the trail you can lose air in one tire.

I know a few guys that use them, and have not heard any complaints, I'm just anal enough about tire pressure that I prefer to deflate each tire individually using an air gauge. I still do it the old fashion way by bleeding it out with the stems still screwed in, but I think I'll be getting the ARB deflator before beach driving season starts up again in September.....

The last time I hooked a stingray it was like reeling in a boot full of water....I'm glad yours at least put up a fight..... I like the way my KJ handles the beach, not quite as good as my '85 SFA Toyota pickup did, but far better than either my F-150, or Ram 1500 could.....
