It was Chrysler. The dealer was going to charge me the $100 again and gave me some line about the $100 only being valid for the 12 months from when it was initially paid and that even though the regulator had been replaced again in that 12 months it did not extend the 12 month period for when I would have to pay for it again. It was on one of the rear windows that has broken 3 or 4 times over the past couple years.
Are you using Superstition Springs also?
I have had a total of 6 regulators break. LOL... it seems like everyone has problems with the left rear in particular. Mine just broke the other day for the third time.
Now for the good news... Chrysler Customer Care (1-877-426-5337) came through for me. I got a call from them earlier this morning and they are going to reimburse me $300.00 for the three windows I have already paid the $100.00 Goodwill Warranty deductible!! Also there will be no charge to me for the current broken regulator that is being fixed today. All I have to do is send them my invoices showing proof I paid and they'll cut me a refund check. BTW... they had the complete repair history for all vehicles I bought from them.
Yes, my dealer is Superstition Springs and Dave is the best service writer there to deal with. He's Jeep friendly and doesn't hold it over your head if your Jeep has been moded or used off road like many dealerships do..
While typing this I just got a call from Dave saying my KJ was ready and there will be no charge!!
A couple of things folks need to know about if they plan on going to Chrysler to get a reimbursement on money spent getting your window regulators fixed....
- don't come off as a madman ranting and raving demanding a refund. Stay calm and give them the details.
- being a repeat customer with Chrysler also helps and shows them you are a valued repeat customer they don't want to loose. In my case I've bought 4 vehicles in the past 11 years from them... a '99 TJ, an '04 Crossfire, an '06 KJ and most recently my '08 JK.
One other thing to keep in mind the next time you buy a "used" vehicle... be sure to call the manufacturer and register yourself as the new owner. You'll be notified of recalls and it helps when contacting them if you have issues with your purchase later on.
I hope everyone that applies for a refund for money spent on window regulator repairs from Chrysler gets them.....
