I've never seen one before, until you posted that pic. By the looks of it, I would say that it is no more useful than a MOPAR Brush guard, which is not. |

isn't WAAG a foreign company? That may be why you don't see them over here... It doesn't look very functional... |

No one has them. I was looking at them when I first got my KJ in 2003 and decided to go for the full brush guard from westin. It's more cover and looks nicer. Although I did look into and am stilol thinking about the rear bumper bar cover that they offer. |

I always though the 'brush guards' would be more useful for attaching a rope or something. I can't fathom it 'guarding' anything. Buy some touch up paint and roll. Just roll... Not trying to be funny, but is there a pic out there of a brush guard doing anything useful????? |

No picture....but I use the mopar brush guard everyday. Got a tight squeeze in the garage and use it to "nudge" the lawnmower that is tucked in right in front of me. When I bump the mower I know I'm far enough in to close the door behind me! As for knocking brush out of the way?? No Way!!! ![]() |

Editted: I cannot recommend this product due to my bad experience with Waag ...I have three of these was misled by their offer of goods. IMHO, I found they do not honor their promises nor support their product. Buyer beware. |

isn't WAAG a foreign company? Quote: Would you believe that much of what has made WAAG the leader in off-road accessory design was first perfected in bedrooms throughout Southern California? Believe it...
When WAAG Los Angeles began manufacturing off-road products in 1993, it had 50 years of experience in manufacturing fine custom brass and iron bedroom furniture. The two would seem to have little in common, but WAAG's design savvy, sophisticated metal-working skills and attention to detail in the furniture industry made for an easy transition into the competitive automotive aftermarket world. In the process, WAAG has risen to national prominence while transforming grille guards from the boxy, crudely manufactured eyesores of yesterday into attractive accessories that reflect the refined styling of today's trucks and SUVs. The company's progressive approach has resulted in numerous innovations in off-road gear that remain the envy of the industry. WAAG introduced contoured styling that follows and accentuates the distinctive lines of the vehicle. WAAG was also the first to blend welds, miter tubing and utilize tough, durable gaskets to eliminate rust. Perhaps most importantly, WAAG has always insisted that each grille guard be an easy, bolt-on installation that requires no cutting or drilling -- something its competitors can not claim. To achieve such a lofty goal, WAAG has worked overtime to develop innovative bracketry that utilizes existing factory holes which saves time for the installer and ensures a perfect fit every time. It is WAAG's high standards and huge customer demand that led to other ground-breaking WAAG products. WAAG took an item as basic as a side tube and in 1998 created the first "Wheel-To-Wheel" side tube that was fully frame mounted and extended to the rear wheel with a rear step to allow easy access to the truck bed or tool box. Our Wheel-To-Wheel line has spawned yet another design innovation: the one-piece "Kickout" side tube for dually pickups that flares out at the rear to follow the lines of the rear fender. No manufacturer today offers, or has even attempted such a product. Most recently, we introduced the WAAG Rear Bumper Guard, the first guard of its kind to embody the spirit and design of the front grille guard. The guard, originally targeted for upscale SUVs with painted rear bumpers, has proven popular with all models and makes of SUVs and trucks. The guard, which mounts in just minutes to factory tow-hitch mount locations, and includes heavy gauge steel plates and protective vinyl molding, completes the off-road ensemble with style. WAAG's precision engineering and cutting-edge design continue to set the pace in the aftermarket industry as evidenced by the growing number of WAAG imitators in the off-road field. Though often copied, WAAG's commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and being an industry leader has yet to be equalled. WAAG is determined to keep it that way. |

Andrew ![]() Andrew, what are you going to use for front tow hooks now, as the guard will mount in the same place??? I hope, they'll be strong enough to put a tow strap on them. |

I have never understood the purpose of a brushguard, Even if it was used to guard the front from brush, the sides would get really scratched up when going through enough brush that a brushguard would be beneficial. If your going to srcatch the heck out of the sides, who cares about the front? Are they purely cosmetic? Some of them do look good on the right car, just wondering what they are really for. Looks like a good ram for shopping carts and cones though! ![]() |

Post subject: | I have one too! |
Hey afornal, If you haven't seen a pic of one of us with it, I will try to send you one. It is nice looking and strong. I got it because of all the NYC parking I do. Too bad people use my spare tire for a game of BUMPER CARS! ![]() Anyway, I had alot of questions too befoere buying it. I used the number on their site for technical questions and spoke to their designer(I think Al was the name) and they would be happy to talk to you. You can email them too. They officially told me that you CANNOT tow from anywhere on this guard. There are definitely parts that will bend or crack/break. Although, if must....It has to be as close as possible to where the guard is connected to the KJ frame(ie the holes). Try real soon. I Love it though since I do more PARKING than Driving OR Wheelin'!!! ![]() |

Ok today I recieved a e-mail from WAAG Sales stating they will provide me with a FREE Light mounting kit for my NEW Brush guard FREE of charge, in return for my promotion of thier KJ Prerunner Bumper. I advised them of my involvement in the KJ World and they were very nice to provide these to me. GREAT Company. I'll post more Pics and background on thier product in the near future. Andrew ![]() |

Andrew, I too was promised free light mounts since the KJ model does not have them pre attached as they do on their other models. However they never sent them and after numerous phone calls and emails, I feel I was scammed. I guess I learned my lesson. Oddly enough, the senior person I spoke to at Waag stated these were just for looks and to protect the painted bumpers and said they don't sell many KJ ones since he thought that all KJ's had the plastic bumper (per the Sport version) ![]() ![]() ![]() These are not the police Rhino push bars you see on cop cars... I am going to buy an ARB. Anybody want to buy a Waag? |

That looks good afornal! Nice pick and great price! 50's plenty warm enough to install! Get some lights in those empty stock light spots and you'll have a nice 6-pack of brightness in front of you. I always wondered...how hard would it be to put lights in there when they come from the factory with the little vents in? |
