Post subject: best budget lift for 03 renegade??
PostPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2006 10:41 pm
hey guys
Ive had my 03 liberty renegade for about a year and finally came to my senses and decided to lift it and put new tires on-- I would like to be able to fit 265/75 nitto all terrains on-- Is this possible without too much rubbing? And what is the best budget body lift to get (its only a 4x2 right now so I dont plan on doin any serious trailing)?
Let me know what u guys think...

go to www.rock-road.com rocky road outfitters...check out the 2.125" combo lift..$219 bucks....with it you can fit a 265...with some trimming and pounding to your pich welds....but they recommend a 245/75/16....which is still a very respectable size tire. REMEMBER to buy shocks with that kit as well...Rocky road offers oil damped shocks...two for $81 when you buy a kit. Your stock shocks will top out if you don't change them...and make some scary sounds...and make you feel like you're driving a pair of roller skates as well.

Couple things...

No, 265/75/16 are not possible "without too much rubbing." Not without some work anyway. There will be severe rubbing and you need to be prepared to cut and pound in order to make room for them. You can make them fit, but chances are good that you will still have rubbing.

There is no such thing as a "body lift" for the KJ. This is a uniframe vehicle so only suspension lifts are available.

If you really want the 265/75 size then you'll need something taller than the combo lift. You could try the Daystar 2.5" spacer lift.

Daystar puck lift or Rusty's coil.

daystar...

the 265's WILL RUB. I run 255's and the rubbing is due to width of the tire. Since the 265 is 10 milimeters wider, I can only assume a 265 will rub (pinch weld/sway bar).
