Here is a question for you...
I have noticed that when I back out of my driveway into the street, I put the KJ in drive. Easy enough...but it seems to lag or hesitate for about... 1 second maybe. My foot is on the brake I shift to drive and wait a moment...nothing. I take foot off brake and there is nothing for a second then it kind of...jolts. It is not bad but has made me wonder the last few days. I checked the fluids and all are good. I changed them maybe...18k miles ago roughly. Any ideas? It does have 119k miles on it but still. Oh and it is only when I back out of my driveway which is at an incline. Do you think that could do it?

I think my 04 Liberty does the same thing. But is it typical?

My 04 does the same thing and it only has 29k on it. Usually happens in the morning at first start. I think it's typical and I don't worry about it. As a side note I'm a mailman and when I start the mail truck in the morning and put it in reverse it hesitates to get into gear at first start. Both vehicles are fine after that though and don't hesitate after they're "warmed up". My 2 cents.
