Ok, so recently, when I am slowing down, or going slow over a bump. I hear a loud noise under my driver side. Kinda liike ii am bottoming out. But I have a new shock so I think its not bottoming out. Do you think it is my sway bar? How can you tell if it is the sway bar? I mean I tightened it and all, but I just need to be sure.

cold weather, pop the swaybar clamshells and wash the bushings in warm soapy water and give them a coat of lithium

or.. maybe the uppers are loose on the coil overs after the new shocks??

Just got done tightening the bolts to shock mount up front (both sides) and cleaned the bujshings...still makes noise. Tomorrow taking sway bar off and driving around the drive way to see if it is sway bar

If you're a serious enthusiast, you probably take your Jeep off road... and since you're a member of the Pastafari facebook page, that means that your loose association with the event points to that direction.

I had a clunk that felt like a midget with a hammer banging away at the floorboards when I came to a stop, accelerated hard from a stop, accelerated into a turn and driving baja style off road was brutal. I swore that it was coming from the pass side front or right under the pass seat.... I suffered for a year.

I had Troy look at it: he found the crappy MOPAR skid was bent and contacting the t case. He bent it out of the way... no dice.

At LJS 09 some insane dude came up with the idea of driving in circles while he hung outside and stuck his head under the KJ to detect the location of the noise. He insisted that the noise was coming from the rear axle not the front.

After LJS I brought it my local dealer who had been doing my service. They insisted that they only heard normal c clip axle noise but noted the CV's up front had a lot of play in them... great so now we're back to the front.

A friend and I replaced my CVs and as soon as I backed up off the lift "clunk"... I was ready for a good insurance fire.

Then I brought it to a Jeep shop in SLC who took a different approach to the diagnosis. The tech got under the KJ and I climbed onto the rear bumper and started rocking the Jeep violently until we heard the noise... it was quite the workout. He tracked it down to loose bolts in the rear control arm bracket on passenger side and hit it with the impact. He told me that it was a common problem with Jeeps that go off road. When the bracket hits rocks, it mushrooms and the bolt loosens... results in your state "off road" may vary.

I recommend trying what finally located the noise in my KJ; all it takes is another person and you can quickly locate where it's coming from and address accordingly.... and if it works, you can say it was Tom's idea.

My wife's 05 libby is stock and only been offroad in the front yard for a washing, but it has the noisiest suspension of any vehicle we've own, even my trusted tire shop can't figure out why it bangs. I'm thinkin swaybar links even though I did remove, clean and lubed.

Who was that guy?!?

That's the guy you want to keep around. I actually wish I had someone to do that for me.. Or at least drive my truck, while I would hang off the side, but no one knows how to drive stick.
