It has been cold the last couple of days, and the liberty is making crunching sounds in the front suspension area when I go over a bump. I have 36,000 miles and new 235/70/16 firestone destination All terrain tires.
Shocks, ball joints, what do you think? Simply related to cold weather?

You need to grease your front sway bar bushings.

Don't use grease

use silicone spray
grease will eat up the bushings
spray the sway bar bushings each time you do an oil change
and no more squeaks

Well, when I said grease your bushings, I meant a silicone grease. I should have been more specific. People on the internetz can't read my mind.

No. You have to remove the brackets and pull the bushing off of the sway bar to lube them.

Do them one at a time.

How about the polyurethane replacements. Are these more quiet, or do they need silicone as well for quieting down?

Polyurethane are actually noisier without plenty of lubing. I used "gorilla snot" on my camaro.
