Which one will perform better on the trails? I'm not talking anything too intense, and I'm definitely not trying to start a flame war. I was just curious if the SFA on XJ would have that much of an affect on the performance in some basic backroads stuff. I know the XJ probly has slightly better approach and departure angles as well, and the aftermarket for parts is huge compared to ours. So any former or current XJ owners have thoughts on this subject. (Lets try to keep this one civil gang!) :JEEPIN:

As Red Green would say; "Remember, I'm pullin for ya! We're all in this together."

ive looked before and if my memory serves me right the stock kk and xj have very similar approach and departure angles. the sfa of the xj doesnt help it that much when it comes to stock suspension. however if you disconnect the sway bar you would get better articulation out of the xj. just because the kk has brake lock diffs and the hill climb/descent, i would think that it is a more capable rig, stock. however jk would win hands down. better approach/breakover/departure angles same electronic features as the kk and ability to disconnect the front would help a lot. an unlimited jk would probably have a little more trouble then a stock kk on some obstacles do to its wheel base. thats pretty much how i see it.

i hope to be an XJ owner very soon. :P

Stock XJ has much better ground clearance than a KJ. The KJ seems to touch bottom on every little rock, where the XJ seems to never touch on those same rocks.

If I was wheeling a KJ like I do my XJ I would need about 2-3 inches of lift and full skids before I would feel as comfortable with it as I do my XJ.

If your really looking for a wheeler, the XJ makes much more sense.
If your looking for a DD then the improved off road abilities of the XJ shouldn't be a factor.
