Does anybody have experience with Warranty Direct? Their website makes them sound like a reputable and honest company.

They offered me a good 5 year/100K warranty on my CRD for a good price... but I have never dealt with extended warranty companies before.

Quote:
Emu 790s/948s
Skyjacker H7088s rear/Bilsteins front
255/70-16 AT2s/Renegades
GDE HOT Tune
Euro TC
CB radio
No clutch-fan
Thrush Turbo

The above will void most of any extended warranty.

Um, no.

How many thousands of vehicles are on the road under extended warrantys right now? Do you say none of them are modified? I doubt it. Do you think the guy writing the policy is going to know what an Old Man Emu spring is? Or a Euro torque converter? Do they care? Nope. They test drive it...it drives perfect...they insure it.

So.. nobody has experience with this company? Nobody?

Aftermarket warranty's are junk and they will deny everything once they findout it's modified.

Your whole powertrain is non-warrantable due to the GDE tune alone which includes the engine.

You're overlooking a fundamental problem....

The guy writing (or underwriting) the policy doesn't care what you have done to the vehicle. He's looking for a sales commission. The agents that approve reimbursement to mechanics are the ones you have to worry about. Agents will ask outright if you have modified the vehicle... if the mechanic says yes, they won't pay a dime. Their only job is to find reasons to not pay.

Wow. Thanks for all the non-answers guys. I appreciate it.

How on Earth is a mechanic going to know the ECU has a GDE tune? It's undetectable. Almost everything that's been done to my Jeep is undetectable to a mechanic, unless the mechanic happens to own a CRD themselves. I mean, seriously guys. Also, everything that's been done to my Jeep has been done for fuel economy and dependability, except the suspension. So it's not like it would be shady to warranty it.

Looking at this thread, it feels like Jeeps Unlimited up in here right now. Sad... Nevermind.. I'll go ask for experience with this company in another forum.

Hooking up a high end scanner will tell you if you have a modified ECU or not.I have run into this doing diags on Mustangs and GTO's with modified PCM's.It must have the OE programming to diagnose most engine related sensor codes to actually find the real problem. That right there will send red flags to any warranty company, and yes they do ask the tech working on it.

I never buy extended warranties on anything! I take good enough care of my purchases so that any warranty cost would be more than than the repairs necessary in the future. To the OP: It's your right to spend (waste) your money any way you please, however when you come to this forum with all the combined experience available, ask our opinions, then immediately sh*tcan everyone's advice to you because we aren't telling you what you want to hear, please don't bash us and start name calling. Not only is it uncalled for, it makes YOU look like the fool. :2cents: Methinks someone may have a sudden case of buyers remorse...LOL
