Post subject:  Jeep Has a Steiger Fix for Window Regulators - Free Repair!!
I added my findings to this thread. Dealer told me they would fix my window regulator for free following this TSB.

Only applies to '06 and '07's,they may wiggle out of it for earlier years.

tjkj2002 is right about it only applying to 06-07 Liberty's. The Jeep service writer confirmed this for me. Sorry for getting any 05 owners hopes up.

Dealer says no recall, and that the TSB is "informational" only. If I want them to fix it, I'll have to pay.

What year is your KJ? This TSB just came out on the 4th of this month. When did you talk to your dealer? I was told this only applies to 06-07 KJ's. Call Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997 and see what they have to say.

Well you do have to pay for a TSB unless your under a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

I actually did talk to the local dealership here today(making a apointment for trans flush) and asked about the TSB and recall/warranty on the regulators.They said they got the TSB info but a no-go on a recall and being covered outside of warranty.

It's an 06 and the conversation was today. I have powertrain only warranty.

I went to my dealer this morning and they told me I did not have coverage. I call Chrysler and was told that they will fix it for free. They are issuing a service ticket to my local dealer. I should have my window fixed this week. Don't take no for an answer. Call Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997 and press 5 for the complaint department. It sounds like there was a recall issued on Dec. 6 and it has not showed up in the dealerships system yet.

Had an appointment at the dealer today. They took my door apart, put it back together and ordered some parts. I have an appointment next week to get it fixed once the parts come in. I am the third owner with no warranty and I will not have to pay anything. Anyone with window troubles, I recommend talking to your dealer and/or chrysler to get it fixed.

They also told me that if I have another one fail before the end of 2013, they will fix all my window regulators with the Jeep Steiger Kit.

Just picked my Jeep up this morning with a window that works and I did not have to pay anything. My door panel and window look like a monkey coated in grease had their hands all over it, but I can live with that. :jester:

Just got mine back from the dealership... No issues at all getting this taken care of. 1) Called Chrysler to arrange the extended warranty added to the digital file for my Jeep, 2) Call my dealership to arrange an appointment, 3) Take it in and all three bad windows repaired no money out of my pocket. Done the next day.

We even got a discounted rental because the Jeep was in under warranty work... Too bad my wife picked the Smart Car (I'm 6'5")! :shock:

Call Chrysler directly. What The factory is doing (on '06 and '07 models) is issuing an 84 month unlimited mileage warranty on your vehicle. Have your VIN ready when you call and they will add it on to your vehicle's electronic file. You then just have to go to the dealership and they will see the warranty when your file comes up on thier computer.
