well the jeep is no more Dec 4th my wife and I were driving southbound on 601 through SC on the way to I-95 and a lady in a dodge minivan crossed the double yellow line took over our lane and sideswiped the liberty in the drivers rear door and wheel this impact removed the rear axle and turned the jeep 90 degrees the forward momentum then caused us to roll about 6 or 7 times stopping upright we survived with nothing broken and (thank god) with our lifes the jeep did not survive BUT it did its job and protected its occupants there are some pictures on the last page of my cardomain page http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3009803/2004-jeep-liberty/page-11 |

Glad you are all safe! Add this to the running list of Jeeps I have seen in roll-over accidents where the occupants walked away. People can debate it all they want, but Jeeps are built tough and the extra weight of these pigs is there because Chrysler wanted to build them safe. It's a trade-off that is VERY worth it. |

Looks like the Jeep did its last job well. Glad to see you walked away. It's a shame to see that happen to such a nice jeep though. |

Glad you are okay! Roll over accidents are not fun. Been in one in a ford explorer sport and got a pinched nerve out of it. Had to sit out of bowling for a couple of months. Haha glad I am not the only one asking for the A-arms! Anyways, glad to hear ya'll made it out okay and sorry bout the libby! |

Im glad you and wife walked a way ok !!! Towstap a good friend of mine rolled his 02 KJ in front of me a couple year's ago down the side of a cliff, and managed to walk a way with miner bumps and bruses. He then went out and bought a 05 renagade within week's !! Im a believer in the strength of the KJ's frame and design, it can take a lot !!!

I am glad yall are ok and sorry for the lose of a great jeep. I have been in 2 roll overs in my life one in a ford ranger FX4 the other was a 4x4 Tahoe. Walked away from both with nothing more then some glass cuts and a few embedded pieces. But this is a good showing of the KJs strength and the JBA A-arms |

sorry guys the a-arms are still on the jeep if we had not been in transit there are a lot of pieces I would love to pull like the rear cargo area that is bolted to the seat bolt holes the Hellas on the front , the rear lift rubber , and of course the a arms those a arms were the only part of the suspension that did not break in the wreak !! I was even saying to my wife that i would love to pull those off cause someone would want them.... Instead I do have a couple pieces left in the garage .........like :: the oem a arms that I took off the jeep (still in good condition) a spare tire cover a rear seat (was pulled out when i built the rear cargo area frame) that little privacy/security cover for the back area the carpeted wooden rear shelf that i made to replace the above couple gallons of jeep antifreeze and a set of front ceramic brake pads I had not had a chance to install front shock boots from the spacer lift might have some other stuff floating around But that is what I can remember As far as the future : 1. quit feeling like i have been run over by a truck already contacted the credit union and got approval for another loan I like the old body style KJ and the wife likes the newer boxy KJ and the jeep did a great job .....but on the same note I had a jeep and I kind of want something differant Started looking around the the next choice in trucks even when I was looking for my jeep was a nissan Have found a GREAT deal on a Xterra which is a little more roomy that the liberty So I have a red 2007 being delivered tomorrow.. I still love the jeep liberty but got 3% financing at nissan and cant walk away from that Thanks everyone for all the best wishes, advice, and troubleshooting help, and kind thoughts, this forum is the best ...... |

yep looked again at the photo that audiboy reposted of mine and there is a piece of spindle still connected to the a-arm and the wife was worried that the insurance company would have a problem with the fact that those arms were on there I told her that there is no argument that the aftermarket arms are x2 as strong as the factory ones so there should be NO problem there but she worries .... still trying to recope some of my losses for all the led and strobes i had installed on the jeep for rescue/firefighting work not to mention that my binoculars now show double when i look through them |

See what you can work out with buying it back from the ins. co. after they pay you for the total. I have done this with a pickup and came out real good parting it out. The ins. co. should sell it to you for a real cheap price, check it out. Sell the engine and drive train, there are a lot of parts you could sell here. Good luck! |

Like everyone's already said 1) very glad that everyone is okay and no major injuries and 2) these libby's are tough SOB's and the fact that you both walked away unscathed, is a testament to that. The question I haven't seen asked yet is this: What kind of damage did the other vehicle have? Was that vehicle's passengers ok? |
