Oil pressure fluctuates with RPMs. My vans come stock with oil pressure gauges and the needle swings around pretty good with stop and go driving, remains steady at speeds. The main thing is to not let it get too low.

where do you put a pressure sender for the oil pressure? i imagine the trans temp could go inline in the line to the transmission cooler

I tee'd off the oil pressure sending unit down by the oil filter. I have one of those PML alum. taransmission pans and drilled and tapped a hole for the sending unit on the trans. temp. gauge.
