This will be a bit lengthy, but I appreciate any help from those of you whom are patient enough to read this have to offer! My problem started in Sept. 2009 with a faulty back-up light switch on my 2003 Renny with Manual Transmission. My finding was that because I left the gear selector in reverse when parked facing uphill, transmission fluid was slowly seeping into the switch and eventually caused it to short and blow a fuse. The fuse was attached to the 1) The back-up lights, 2) The Rear Defroster (heated mirrors included) and 3) The Turn Signals. Upon replacement of the switch, all was good...until I went to use my rear defroster for the first time that year. What happened was, the LED light for my defroster switch went out immediately and the heated mirrors stopped working. The issue is that the rear defroster still works normally, and the the power mirrors still move as they should and the driver one also auto-darkens as it should. The only problem is that neither mirrors have heat. My mechanic, whom I trust implicitly, is convinced that it's a fuse, however I haven't found any blown fuses. If there are any Jeep specialists out there that are intimately familiar with the wiring or goings-on with the Liberty's electrical system, some help would be greatly appreciated! I apologize for the long read, but thank you for any help!

My circuit diagram basicaly shows that the heated mirrors are in parrallel to the rear window heating element so there is not a seperate fuse for the mirror heaters.
The fault finding section states that you need to measure for voltage accross the mirror elements and with the elements disconnected...should show a resistance of between 10 to 16 Ohms for each heating element.

Thanks BillWill! I'll have to show this one to the mechanic, since me and electronics don't get along.
