Ok I tried to move my front seats up a little to give me an inch more room for a long item so the rear gate would close and neither seat would move. I'm thinking its a fuse since its both but after looking in the manual I don't know which fuse it is. Nothing is listed that I seen for power seats inside or under the hood unless I totally missed it. I know its not on the same one as the seat heaters because those work, I'm using them everyday. Anyone know where I should start looking? |

My drivers side seat did that once; does the tilt part operate,if it does the motor has power. Check for foreign objects in the track, ink pins fit right in there,if you find something in there clear it out.Spray track with wd40,use switch and a rubber mallet on the rail across the back, that freed mine up, I think it stayed in one spot too long! |

Thanks for the reply its both sides and the drivers side will not move in any direction which makes me think the problem is no power to the motors. there were a few bottles and things under the seat that l cleaned out a few days ago but nothing when I tried to move the seat yesterday. I will look again for obstructions and look at the wires and see if something is unpluged under that seats again. |

My circuit diagram for the 2002/2003 KJ shows the power seats operating through: Circuit Breaker Number 1 25 Amp Located in Junction Block. This may not apply to your model KJ. |

Presto!!!!! All you need to know is right here: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread. ... ower+seats I would start by checking that cirquit breaker first. Sinche both seats are off I would bet my money right there. If that doesn't solve the problem I would take a reading from the pins holding the breaker and then disconect the seat harness under the seat and take a second reading from there to see if power goes all the way up to the seat. If you take a look at the second photo of the above link you can see a similar circuit breaker just 2 slots down. Check that, it might be the same (not sure though) If so , you can swap them to see if tha's the problem. BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE IDENTICAL!!! If not don't try anything you might regret. On the other hand if the problem is not the cirquit breaker itself, doing so, might burn out the second one as well and I can n't recall what it is for. It's up to you to decide what to do. |
