I got two brand new front tow hooks with mounting hardware from Mopar Parts America last year for about $90. Not sure what you are looking at that costs that much.

Or saying for what kind of vehicle or what year....And posting in the CRD Tech only section.

So that doesn't help much..

Sorry I'm new here so didnt realy know where to post it. I look at mopar parts .com I think it was. They have a Jeep spot and it said $172 a side which is nuts, So I thought I would just build some Dring hooks. Whats the mounting hard where look like? do I need any thing special or to make any thing?

Here is the part number for the front tow hook kit...... 82206124. This is the one I ordered and came with both front hooks and all mounting hardware.

How much are they?

Usually about $95 to $115 depending on where you get them from. That price does include both tow hooks and the mounting hardware IIRC. Or wait and keep a lookout in the marketplace section for a set to come up for sale.

If you'd rather have the rings then search around here for a thread that has "farm shackles " in the title or text. IIRC a member used the stock tow hook brackets and a part from a hitch bar to make a set of recovery points that used the D-ring.

I might do the same thing myself later if me and the hooks don't get along  .

Not only do they look better but offer better recovery points(when done right) and are cheaper to do than the factory junk. Also they helped out a ton when I had a canoe on my roof this summer 8)

Thats what I was thinking and they offer a better Hi-Lift lift point and I would feel better with the Drings. There the next thing on the list I just put a straight pipe on today sounds sweet I love it and am vary happy with how it went. So do I need a top bracket on the top side of the bumper ? And is it hard to get them up there ? I'm thinking about using 1/2 inch plate on it all and then cutting out the three bolt pattern and then putting two of the plates together so the D-ring isnt all over the place and then have them keyed and welding them in. Tell me what you all think about that.

Thanks Jim
