Well today i was going down the road in my girlfriends jeep and noticed her oil light stayed on. So i made her pull over and checked it twice at that. It isnt low and i just changed it a few days ago. So i think it is the pressure sending unit and i need to know where it is and a part number would be great. I think it is somewhere near the filter but if someone could please tell me for sure and make my day alot easier. Aslo as you can tell i am a CRD guy working on a V-6 gasser so i am out of my element |

its above the oil filter. you need to unhook the electrical piece and then take it off. i dont know HOW to take it off because it is on there pretty darn good. taking the oil filter off will help a lot tho |

I will have a look at it tonight when i get home and do a wirte up on how i got it off and the location. It just sucks though because i just changed the oil and if i have to remove the filter knew i should of fixed that before i changed the oil.

This has been brought up before and as I recall the sender is a common one avalable at Advanced or Autozone. Here's a link to what I found at AutoZone. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/ ... o1cqZ9ciau Joe |

I think it's just over an inch, like an inch and 1/16th. And if your my size you can barely get to the filter from underneath the jeep, so getting to the switch is not happening. ( I'm thinking there should be , "Jeep Liberty Filter change Pose." for yoga. ) I changed mine by quickly removing the battery, under hood fuse block and battery tray. Much, much more room this way. Had to use my wife's hand mirror to make sure I was undoing the clip correctly. I also took the serpentine belt off to allow room for a universal joint, extension, and then my ratchet fit in between fan and pump. Nothing like Chrysler cramming that stuff in there alltogether. What ever happened to working on a v-8 with so much room in the engine bay you can sit on the inner fenders and work on the motor? |

Careful when you put the new one on. Don't torque it down to tight or you may damage it. Just nice and snug is good. |

Yes it is an inch and a 1/16 deep socket. Serp belt off can help also. Done my sensor twice. Napa also carries them. |
