Post subject:  Fuel Issues... Stalling out after I put in gas

I don't know if this is the right spot to put this but I am hoping someone has an answer to my problem.

For the last week, every time I filled up my tank; as soon as i was done pumping, started up the liberty and it stalled out automatically. I had to keep my foot down on the throttle in order to get it going.

Here is the tricky part of my problem.... it ONLY happens when i put gas in it. never any other time.

I thought that maybe it was my fuel pump. But, i can still hear it turnin on and 'pumping' when i turn the ignition key to the 'on' position.

I also thought that perhaps water was in the fuel line.. so I added dry gas to it... nothing better yet.

Still stalls out when i put gas in it.

Any one have a suggestion? Maybe the relay might be going? or perhaps it is the pump..

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks

Managed to get the codes in which are showing up

4 total:

455 and 442.. I assume that is the evap

and 1682, and 1491.

would the low voltage of the OBD code 1682 be the rason why i stal out when i get fuel?

I don't know where to begin. Thanks for your help in advance everyone.

Just a guess, but the 455 code and 442 codes are both evap related with the 455 being a large evap leak. Could have a crack in a vacuum line or a bad fuel cap so maybe check all of your vacuum hoses, etc as well as the fuel cap.

Not sure the 1692 code has anything to do with the starting after filling up. That is a charging system voltage low and could be an old code. Erase the codes and see if they come back.

Hope this helps a little.
