Post subject:  2003 Sport "farts" randomly
Hey all,

I have a 2003 sport KJ, automatic, 4x4. The last 2 months I randomly hear a high pitched "farting" noise coming from uinder my hood (i think that's where it's at). It only last for a quarter of second or so. It happens about once every 3 hours of driving time. The noise is hard to explain, my buddy heard it and said it sounded like a high pitched fart. I am begining to worry that something is wrong.

I know it's not a belt. I haven't been able to accuratley identify factors (such as was the AC/Heater on)

Any ideas?

Mine did that for awhile too. I read somewhere that its pressure being release from the cooling system. Might want to try replacing your radiator fill cap and making sure its topped off. Mine had stopped over the winter months but I'm wondering if its going to start up again when it gets warmer.

I don't think its harmful or causing any damage but I hate it when my libby passes gas in public too.

Happens to me sometimes. Kinda embarrasing.
