Four Wheeler had a decent review of the CRD in their april issue...no offroad use but the said they though it would do well (theirs has the LSD and full skids). It will be interesting to see what they say after taking it off road...

Yes, I just saw that. I'm very happy that Four Wheeler has a KJ CRD in their long term test fleet now. They seem very positive about it so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how they like it over time. I really love mine. It's been the best "do-everything" vehicle I've ever owned...just wish I had more leg room.

Some of you said: JP Mag = "Bad Word"

I've read some good things about Libby in there and posted as such. I really posted that because of the tire chart.

Anyway, JP mag= "Bad word"

 Yeah, thats how I feel about "PowerCrax", but most of you love it.  Don't go to the "Richmond Gear" site, it might run up the counter

I guess many subjects are subjective and you get what you want out of it. I guess thats why we have discussion.

The Tire Size Chart is actually pretty nice. I didn't realize how similar the XJ, ZJ, WJ, WK models are to the KJ in terms of max tire size stock and 2" lift:

Image

Course the Wranglers still have us beat. But looking at it, they still can only fit a 30" tire stock, whereas we can fit a 29.5". Not that far off.

Actually, even the text in the article isn't bad: The first year of the Liberty sat about 1 inch higher than the following years. Our chart is really for 2003 and up KJ owners. If you've got an '01, for the most part, you can add an inch to whatever it is we've recommended. Like the Grand Cherokees, this isn't really a hard-core rig - it's more of a dual purpose one. We'd put a 2 1/2-inch lift on it, stuff some 265/75R16s under it, and trim as necessary.

(Replace "2003 and up" with "lowered / April 2002 and up" and "01" with "pre-lowered / April 2002 and prior" and it's a pretty good blurb)

Well, that's the first positive article I've seen out of there towards the Liberty. That's actually pretty useful. Also, I have to admit, I read their review of the 2007 Wrangler in their new issue (my subscription hasn't run out yet). However, I still can't wait until Cappa is out of there, whenever that is.
