I have a 2004 Liberty. It has about 37,000 miles on it. In the winter when it's cold the front end squeeks a lot when I hit a bump or go over a speed bump. What could cause this? What should I do? |

Probably your swaybar bushings...just hit them up with a lithium-based grease... |

I've got the exact same problem. Mine's got about 36k. I think it's just the cold. If it doesn't go away next time the weather's nice, then I'll attack it with some lithium grease as prescribed. |

I only have 18k on mine and it does it. I took them off and put some dielectric grease on them but it came back. I would like to switch to poly bushings but i dont have any money. |

I've heard the poly bushings are even worse when it comes to noise. Just use grease every 6 months or so. If they start acting up in between you can try hitting them with some silicone spray. The spray works for a little while, but you have to grease them for any long lasting effect. |

Im thinking of drilling and taping the bushing braket and putting a grease fitting in. I wanted to do this before but went with laying the dielectric grease to it. All the mud on the trails kinda gets to it i guess. |

Mine squeaks also. Especially going over speed bumps. I guess all those water crossing are the culprit. Time to break out the Lube. |

Mine had the same ANOYING sounds. I have my Jeep at the dealership working on some electrical repairs for the cruise control (another nightmare after having the Jeep repaired after my "accident"). I asked them about the swaybar bushings. They looked at them and said they were the cause of the problem monstrous screeching. They greased them-up, and hopefully, the sound will be taken care of. Thanks tmmckenna for posting the thread, and thanks Guyute1210 for the solution. tmmckenna and all the rest: I would look into this solution as well! Good luck! |
