That's also the same answer I got from NAPA. I wonder why the flopping around on braking material being used? I do know my 07 has what seems to be semi mettalic based on the feel and my past experience with them. Have you ever heard of a semi mettalic ceramic blend material?

Yep,Napa makes the best ones of that type, the Adaptive One pads. One pad is ceramic and the other is semi-metallic(inboard and outboard pads).

Well then maybe I don't hate ceramics as much as I thought I do :ROTFL: I have used those several times on various vehicles and was pleased with how they performed

DBA Rotors are awesome, With EBC Pads

My mustang loved EBC green stuff pads, with hawk slotted rotors. Noticed a huge difference in stopping power with the ebc pads.

I did notice abit of noise when they were wet, but never rad a dust issue.

Apparently it's just Duralast brand that sucks...because I used their pure ceramics and they were the worst pad I ever used in my life. They sucked so bad that after 6 months, I took them off and demanded a refund. They dusted like absolute hel1 too.

So what about slotted rotors? Are those better than drilled?

Slotted rotors have a real benifit, even for aggressive street drivers.Drilled rotors have zero benifit besides high end racing for weight savings only and actually decrease brake performance from removing material used to absorb the heat caused by braking.Drilled rotors are for looks only on the street and are highly prone to cracking.

So where would one go about finding some slotted rotors that would work on a KJ?

Post subject:  Re: Best Brake Pads

whats the word on reactive one vs napa premium? I did front brakes about 10k ago and Im hating the brakes and the rears are about done too. Might just do an overhaul here soon.

edit: I see the reactive are a slotted type so Ill go with the premium but would still like to hear from those who have used the reactive rotors.

I have put 1000 km's so far on some EBC sloted rotors on the front. Working great...no issues.

Reviving this post and calling on TJKJ2002.

TJ, could you point out which of the following NAPA Ultra Premium front brake pads is the preferred one that you suggested we use?

1. NAPA Brake Pads - Ultra Premium Front - OE Semi-Metallic - NAPA PART #UP7732AM

2. NAPA Brake Pads - Ultra Premium Front - Ceramic - NAPA PART #UP7732AX

I use on my jeep maxbrakes discs and pads. I believe they use 3500 steel on the discs. No issues at all and best of all they are slotted and drilled.... now for the cherry on the Sunday..... inexpensive. Read about them.... great stuff in my opinion

No drilled rotor performs good on the street, that is a proven fact.Doesn't even perform well on the track either.

Look at all the major racing series, none use drilled rotors.

Not to mention brakes are one items that truly lives up to the saying "you get what you pay for",cheap stuff equals poor performance and always holds true for brakes.

The brakes I got at maxbrakes actually are holding up better than the oem brakes I had installed before. They handle heat better as they have not warped under hard braking while pulling the rv ( versus the oem I had). Anyways, it's my opinion but for my use, they are great.

I have read good things about the Raybestos EHT "Element3" hybrid metallic-ceramic pads, and they have a GG friction/fade pad rating http://faculty.ccbcmd.edu/~smacadof/DOTPadCodes.htm

Anyone use them?

I am thinking of using those with either of Raybestos' Advance Tech rotors, or their R-300 rotors.
