I thought this would save some time for anyone who might consider installing the new ARB awning. It's a totally gangster design but outside of some 6MM bolts and nylock nuts, it comes with no hardware. ARB does sell some very beefy "L" brackets with holes that line up with the aluminum extrusion but it's not very useful to mount to a round bar.

Image

I bought a bag of these for $1.91 at Home Depot:

The holes on the clamps come very close to lining up with the extrusion slots, I did have to widen the holes with a unibit. The supplied fail-bolt is on the right. I grabbed some longer 6MM bolts so I would have more working room. Not pictured are the 6MM flat washers, split washers and bolts.

Since this thing is 6ft wide and I was working alone, I found it easier to put the awning up-side-down on the rack so I could get everything lined up and the the bolts started then flip the whole thing over and tighten; it went pretty smoothly.

Here's what the awning looks like when packed up...

... and deployed

It's the 2M. They make one size smaller and one size larger. All the models pull out 6ft. All models set up and pack away in 30 secs with one person. The kit comes with stakes and guy lines for windy days.

An RTT is not compatible with this model rack, however, RL does make a rack that's just as beefy but doesn't have the raised bars this awning is mounted to.

These clamps will turn green (rust)after you 'll be out in the rain ,there are also very soft, they
will bent and crack open ,if you thigh it too much.
They are meant to hold water pipe against a the wall inside your household.

Copper doesn't rust, rustoleum doesn't turn green and it's secured to a pipe... all is well in the universe.... thanks for stopping by though... 8)

Thanks J rock. I look forward to putting the awning to the test during Pastafari in a couple of weeks.

There are conduit clamps the same size that will be significantly stronger made out of galvanized steel.
