I have an 06 kj with the 3.7 and recently i have noticed that sometimes after all the warning lights go off the oil light stays on. i have checked the oil and it is good have changed my oil every 3k. sometimes i can turn it off and restart it and the light goes off. i googled it and some say that their oil sending unit was going out and when they changed it the light stopped and another said that the dealership said that his motor was sludged up. i have read that the 2.7, 3.7, and 4.7 all have problems with sludging up. i figured if anone would be able to give me any info it would be u guys here on lost.

there is no tapping or strange noise from the engine when this happens.

If you have done an oil change recently, you may have gotten a defective oil filter. Most of todays oil filters have a check valve within the filter that keeps the oil from leaking down through the pump. Try changing that, as it's a cheep test.

While you're at, you might as well give it a seafoam treatment for the potential sludge, and replace the pcv valve- which I do about every fourth oil change.
