43K and just noticed that my belt has some cracks in it. They are on the outside and run longways on the belt. Most belts I've seen with cracks have them running width wise not length wise.

Is this common on KJs?
What average mileage are people getting between belt changes?
Is there a better belt than OEM out there?
What is the approx cost at a dlr with parts of replacing a belt?

Thanks

Not sure about the Dealer price, but I got a spare at autozone for $29.99. They had cheaper ones too. I got the Goodyear Gatorback. Not sure if my belt was replaced before I got my Jeep, but so far I put 15K out of the total 73K on it and the belt looks fine.

Anyone know what the service man calls for labor-hour wise?

I got the service manual out, and in the drive belt diagnostic chart, under longitudinal cracking, it says possible causes are that the belt has mistracked from the pulley or "pulley groove tip has worn away rubber to tensile mount." Either way the correction listed is simply "replace belt." I did not see any mention of how long it takes to do, but that's probably elsewhere in the manual, and this thing is huge.

Do it!! I saw mine was looking a tiny bit "dry" last fall, so I it was on my list to change. About 2 days later it shreaded in half right down the middle and while whipping around the engine compartment, it took out the AC discharge line that routes across the fan belt path to the condensor, so I had to fix that too!
