2004 Liberty Limited The overhead display is showing "Tire Sensor Bad / Missing" when you start the Jeep. I know there all there, so how can I tell which one of the 5 are bad? Is there a way to test them? I saw something about training the sensors when cycling though the menu, but I have no idea how to use that feature (owners manual is MIA). Can anyone give me an idea on this? I'm new to the world of Liberty. Also, where can I get a replacement sensor? The dealership quoted me close to $250 for all of them and said they all have to be replaced. |

the batteries are sealed in the sensors. I am sure you can get them from Rock Auto and get them installed at a tire shop or independent shop cheaper than a dealer. My friends 2004 Grand Cheroke has a bad sensor and it says with on is bad. I am not sure what my liberty does. I have only had the tires aired down to off road, all 4 at once and all it told me was "low tire pressure" |

The batteries only last about 5-7 years in the TPMS sensors,so most likely a dead battery or 2 and is best to replace all of them due to age,and no you can not just change the battery. |

Since you have a 2004, have you tried to retrain them? Air them up to 35 psi, retrain them and see what happens. Last time after I aired down for off road and then reinflated I had the same display warning. I retrained them and it solved the problem. You will need a training magnet (should be in the Jeep somewhere) and you can get the procedure on line. It is very easy. If you don't have a magnet you can get it from justforjeeps.com for about 25 bucks. |

I'm thinking it might be the spare sensor since the overhead display is still reporting the pressure of the other four. |

Realize this may be a silly question, have you checked the tire pressure in your spare? |
