My 2002 Liberty started making some loud whirrring noises yesterday. Don't really hear it while driving, but noticeable when slowing down and coming to a stop, you can hear it right through the vents. Opened the hood, and it seems to be coming from one of the pulleys, so far as I can tell. I remember that top pulley (bigger one) used to spin in the middle, like a clutch or something, but didn't notice it moving today. Not familiar with this at all. No difference in performance, engine temp, nothing, just this aggravating noise. Any ideas what may be the cause?
Also, noticed a few weeks ago, drips of water coming out of a hose that appears to come out from the firewall area on the left side of the engine compartment, facing the rear of the jeep. Just a black hose about 6" long and open ended. Is this just a condensation drip or something? Noticed dripping water a few days in a row after driving. Checked the ground and it's just water.
Thanks for the help guys!
