Nvm They are Ball Mount Hitches mounted sideways Lol thats great 8) did you have to drill them to match the jeep frame or did you math the frame to the hitch?

Post subject:  Re: Front Grill and Stock Bumper Mods

I used a 4" cutoff wheel on a handheld angle grinder to cut the main bumper down.

I used a cordless jigsaw to cut the tow hook holes out.

All of my trimming has been done with bumpers on the Jeep.

Yes, They are 2" drop hitch receivers that I bought at Harbor Freight. There are already 2 holes in the KJ to mount them with. I used the cross-pin hole already in the receiver for one hole and just measured and drilled a second hole in the receiver to match the ones in the KJ. Bolted them on with 1/2", Grade 8 bolts.

Do want my bumpers cut like that very much so. Too bad my dad thinks its ruining the car since its a limited model(the front bumper has already been smashed in by the bullbar once and the rear was clipped by a woman already). Ill talk him into it one day... Or ill just do it at a meet and greet once

-Remove front grill
-Seperate the two pieces
-Cut gutter guard into 7 strips about 2" bigger in each direction than the openings in the grill
-Place gutter guard behind grill so that each opening is covered
-Snap inside grill piece back into place
-Reinstall front grill

Essentially the gutter guard pieces are just wedged between the outer and inner two pieces of the front grill

Have you noticed any increased engine temps. My dad is worried about loss of airflow and increased engine temps. I think the holes in the guard should be big enough.

Absolutely no increase in engine temp, effect on air flow is extremely minimal if any (as you mentioned the holes in the gutter guard are large), however far less bugs and stones in my rad :)

Same here. No increase on mine either. And I have +100° ambient temps 3 months per year with no problem.

I have the same grill (with the fog lights) my slats look wider than the other grill. I also noticed that you dont have the stock slats anymore. What did you do and what did you put in the grill. I like the black!

Post subject:  Re: Front Grill and Stock Bumper Mods

I cut the slats out of the black plastic backup piece in the grill, but kept the frame. Them frame holds the gutter guard in place. 05-07 have the same grill / same spacing. 02-04 have a different one. Oh, and Renegades have a different one too, and different hood to match.
