Looks like with everyone's help, that my AC compressor pulley/clutch is seizing/bearings gone bad. Checking prices here in Canada is crazy!! New $600, Reman $450, Auto Salvage $285. I saw some talk on here about it, but does Chrysler actually make a bypass kit/pulley to replace the compressor? I can do without AC if they had a bypass kit that would be cheaper. Some guys mention getting a shorter belt, but I don't think I want to risk that. What should I do?? |

I hope this mighht be an answer..... It looks like the bracket and pulley shown will mount in place of the a/c compressor. ![]() ![]() ![]() It shows: #3 Bracket 5303 0959 #4 Pulley 5303 1045 #5 Screw and Washer M10x1.5x45 6505 487AA #6 Screw and washer 6504 344 I would GUESS that the hardware is the bolts that are otherwise used to mount the compressor... ? At another page, it is shown that there is only ONE part number for the belt; i.e., there is not a different belt depending on whether it has or doesn't have A/C. |
