If I take out the carpet and the "pad" below it, will there be a difference between temperatures in the cab and sound deadening?

Really contemplating this because I hate carpet!

Thanks!

I took the carpet out of my old Camaro that we built into a drag car. The only place it got hotter was right over the headers. But yeah it got alot louder inside. You could hear more rattles and stuff. I thought about taking it outta my KJ but I don't think I will. Gotta keep mine comfy for the kids

I took mine out of my old Rubicon and line Xed the floor. It was load and hot. My feet were nice and toasty which was great in the winter but not in the summer. People hated driving with me because of the floor boards being hot.

Im wondering the difference between a thick linex'd floor and this would be. Eventually I want to turn the KJ into a purpose built farm/trail rig (emphasis on farm) and I think this might be a decent alternative to linex as well as hide all the darn wires under the carpet.

But I guess with my plans I doubt I will keep most of the wiring under the carpet.

Do you have this? Looks pretty cool! Does this keep the heat down? And it is ALL of the carpet right?
