What do you experts think about putting a snow plow on the kj? My brother thinks it's a bad idea due to the unibody. I just want to plow my driveway (100 yards of gravel), and I have a rock lizard front bumper with hitch and shackle mounts. Has anyone done this? Any input would be appreciated. |

It depends if your moving snow or pushing it as in if your using a angled blade to slide snow off a surface you'll be fine. BUT if your using a straight blade to push the snow down the path you'll need a boxed frame vehicle. It all depends on how deep/heavy the snow is and if you have a place to scoot it off to the side so it doesn't build up in front of the blade and cause that extra stress on the frame of the vehicle. Have you considered using a quad with a blade? |

ton of discussion about a year ago on the same subject. If it was mine though I wouldn't do it. I've had plows on full framed F250s and Broncos and have seen what it did to them. |

i would do it... the KJ has all the right ingredients to plow like a beast. you just cant be dumb about it. It will never plow like a F350 or 1 ton truck.. but mounted correctly, and used correctly, it wouldn't hurt the unibody... and the wheel base, weight, turning radius, and snow capabilities of the KJ would be great for snowplowing. |

Thanks for the responses. I found that old thread, and after reading, I'm leaning more toward just buying an old truck or outfitting my riding mower with a giant snowblower. Anyone have any experience with lawn tractor mounted snowblowers? I found this on craigslist for about what it would cost for a new plow setup on th kj, but I don't really want a money pit project.
