so i have my crd i live down here in el paso well.... no one here knows how to do diesel engines here as either they dont know how or they dont speak english.... but i want to know is there a way to clean out the turbo?..... the inter cooler and the colling syteme?, also just about clean out every thing there is so i can get all the sand and dust and doo doo it has sucked in and doo doo out since ive been stationed here. also i put 2 1-2 inch piping from my exauhst flex pipe to the booty end of the jeep welding on a cherry bomb turbo muffler and keeping the factory tail end to stay hooked up to jeep, but i lost the cataluc converter in the process so im wondering if this is bad?... but really anything i can do to clean it from the enging inside and out and my whole fuel line and any way to add mpg and power cheaply will help., if any one is in el paso please let me know, mhardwick87@yahoo.com

Don't know anyone around El Paso - although it's pretty big - should have someone who works on Sprinter/Cummins - they're diesel and troubleshooting is similar to the CRD.

If you're going to stay there - I'd suggest a Spanish class.

read Sam's Noob guide

you really shouldn't have to clean the Turbo - there is oil from the CCV system - but it blows through - it'll kill the turbo hoses - but not the Turbo.

best thing for sand is a good air filter - changed regularly (although the Australian folks tend to add snorkels to avoid road dust.)

and in general mpg, power, cheaply are contradictions- if one's better the others worse - and it always costs more than you want to spend...... (although the ORM is a pretty good compromise)
