I know atleast a couple of people on here have fully Bedlinered KJ's and I think Digger has a KK that's done. What Brand are you guys using how longs it been on there is it color matched and how is it holding up to the abuse? I'm asking these questions because I'm thinking of having mine done at work Color matched PR4 Flame Red with the fender flares and bumpers done in Black with REFLEX Liner. The price is right but I don't want to do it with out all the facts. Another question is how well/easy does it clean? Are there any real drawbacks to doing the this other than the obvious body work will suck? |

me either don't know what the big deal is.. was painting a tractor and it was real gusty outside so I had the doors closed and sealed up, and someone opened the main bay on me and about 5 gal bucket worth of sand went flying in it came out about the texture of line-x the sucka mule stayed like that too btw before someone assumes i'm saying that's all the line-x stuff is, i'm just making a light hearted joke about a painting mishap I had |

Never heard of reflex, but as far as liners go I prefer doing my own herculiner in lieu of other in shop liners. But I have had rhino liner in a Titan and Linex in my hemi Ram and I prefer Linex for its looks and flexibility. The main thing to think of is is it as flexible as your fenders plastic? Cuz if your fender gets hit by somthing and the plastic flexes but the liner doesnt the two will seperate. Iknow Herculiner and Linex are flexible enough to line plastic. After thats figured out its all in the prep work, any liner can last forever as long as its suited to the application and the material is preped properly. Herculiner also comes in red if you might consider doing it yourself leme know iv done alot with Herculiner in the past and never had a quality problem, only downfall to herculiner is the qwerky look compared to shop liners and the abrasive feel in aplications like door jams. On the plus side Herculiner is easily patched if clawed off (never really had to do much patch work) if the material dents the liner doesnt crack and break, its been proven to increase the dent resistance, its frickin industructible, oh yeah did I mention its cheaper and readily available? Any auto chain carries it and at 30$ a quart is beats taking new rockrails or bumpers to a shop to get lined to match. And its really easy to prime and paint if your just after the anti rust properties and dont mind patching the paint when scratched (never understood painting liner... But it can be done). I should sell this stuff...... |

Thanks for the input guys, Reflex is a very very flexible product. When you decide to add color it is impregnated into the mix while spraying. As for cost well I work there I will be doing all the Prep work myself pretty basic stuff really just very time consuming, That's also a very good point concerning the flares won't be a problem on mine where they're gonna be steel. I will be spraying a scrap plastic flare, and a piece of scrap steel to see how much it will actually take tho just to see how it takes a beating. For cleaning tho anyone who actually has it done want to chime in? |

What I used........ http://www.uschem.com/index.cfm?page=productDetail&id=125&pid=2 For bedlining the body it works great and UV coating makes it last a long time, they used to make a tintable version but not sure if they still make it or not.Not as good a LineX for durability but 1/4 or less the cost also.Hurculiner is junk, never seen it last, and anything sprayed out of a aerosol can is worthless also. |

Quote: Hurculiner is junk, never seen it last, and anything sprayed out of a aerosol can is worthless also. Woh there dont knock a product on durability when you obviously havent been arround it enough to know it. Just because a bunch of.idiots apply it to a un treated, dirty, or waxed surface and it doesnt hold up, cuz NO liner would adhere to those surfaces. The only problem with herculiner is the customers themselfs applying it to poor surfaces, I have done entire vehicles semi-professionaly and to date havnt had an issue. Best example is a 1992 Nissan D21 pickup lined inside and out in 2007 at 182000 miles still going today at 230000 miles without any peeling at all, only issue is guy came down ona rock and chewed through the liner on the frame rail when pulled off it. Like I said, any liner can be durable as long as its suited to the aplication and the surface is prepped properly. |

I have used both Herculiner and a commercially applied liner on two different trucks. Neither one gave me any problems. As previously stated by others, the key is in the prep work. It is not just in the sanding, but the cleaning afterwards that is vital to the product bonding securely. |

prep work is THE key for whatever brand you get. I wouldn't put it on the fender flares....if you wheel, it won't stay on the flares. |

For a DIY application U-Pol Raptor has gotten great reviews in the wrangler crowd. You buy it in a kit that comes with a spray gun that u hook to a compressor. Sounds like it was favored over herculiner. As soon as I have the time my tub will be getting a coat. But what ever u choose ; prep it, prep it again, then prep it again. |
