Ran across this site,some good lift law info with specific title codes for all 50 states.

I like my Home state with there "windshield wipers required but unknown if the windshield is required or not". :-)r

NC doesn't require a windshield but does require wipers as well, If you don't have a windshield you get a motorcycle inspection sticker on your left front fender, ask me how I know.

Not since we did away with inspection stickers.

If you only drive in your own state then the relaxed or non-existant laws are neat, just don't travel outside the state because if the laws on this stuff are different ...

yes but for the most part you vehicle is only required to meet the laws in the state that it it registered in and can not be ticketed in another state. There are some exceptions to this (and I speak from experience) but most of the time you will be fine.

While traveling through other states they can not give you tickets for problems that are not illegal in the state your vehicle is registered.Does it happen? Yes because they know that 99% of the time you will not fight the ticket in court where it would be thrown out right away,just a way to make money for there county/state as your most likely to just pay it and not travel back to go to court.MOAB is a notorious for this during EJS.
