Condensed Version of Bill Tolle's Year

I know that some of you may have tried to contact me since back in January 2006.

Unfortunately, I have had some serious health problems and spent a total of 33 of the first 53 days of 2006 in the hospital.

Won't bore you with details but it involved a 5 bypass heart operation. 8 days in hospital. About 10 days later I contracted a staph infection and for the next few days they were telling Charlotte that I might not survive. Fortunately I proved them wrong!

Returned home on 2/22/06 but barely able to get around with the aid of a walker.

If I have promised to do something for you and failed please forgive me. This is the first time I have been able to sit in front of the computer (3/2/06) to let folks know what was going on.

Please do me a couple of favors:

1. Forgive me for anything I have overlooked or failed to respond to.

2. Please do NOT reply to this email. I appreciate your concern but have so much back correspondence to catch up on that I really don't want to add to the confusion.

The number one concern right now is that you get back to your original health. Small steps will get you there!

The good news is that they were originally teling me I might be in the hospital for a month or 2 more but I managed to get up and start walking with the help of a therapist and a walker and made better progress than they expected.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Unfortunately offroading is out for a few months. I am not allowed to drive for at least another month and the list they gave me said I can't even get on a riding lawn mower for a few months because I might break some of the stitches loose inside my chest and where they replaced the sections of clogged arteries in my heart.

Some things just take time and this is an opportunity to practice patience.
