Hello,
I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty and the horn seems to have stopped working. The first thing I did was check the fuses and they all seem fine. When I press the steering wheel to use the horn I here a clicking noise that seems to come from around the fuse box area. If anybody knows how to fix this problem, it would be great.
Thanks

Pretty sure there is a relay for the horn instead of a fuse. Not positive, but it might be located to the left of the dash in that fuse/relay area.

Hmm....I just pulled the fuse out....not out of my KJ though....out of my patrol car at work......in a fit of stress over our justice system that makes us deal with a person we just arrested the night before...and having to arrest him again the following night...FOR THE SAME THING....I punched the steering wheel of my patrol car....problem is, the horn went off....and stayed on....me and my partner were sitting here hitting the steering wheel over and over trying to make it stop....a patrol car in broad daylight sitting in a parking lot of a small convenience store strip plaza with the horn blaring.....a little embarassing...my partner was laughing so hard he could barely breathe....he actually left me alone and went into the convenience store....so anyway, after pulling out the manual I found the fuse connected to the motors computer that powers the horn and pulled the darn thing out....yes my hearing is thankfully ok...

So I know how to make a horn stop working....as for getting it to work....sorry bro....maybe I should send you the fuse I pulled out.

Hmm?

The clicking you are hearing is the relay kicking on and off, so its good. So that means the switch in the steering wheel along with the clock spring is working. That leaves it to the actual horn. Its located on the drivers side in-front of the battery, I'm not sure how to go about checking the little guys. Theres 2 of them which makes up the dual tune horn that makes it sound so good.

Funny story: My dads work truck got backed into and broke one of the horns. So now when he blows his horn only the high tone works and sound really funny. A high pitched horn in a big ford truck.

I did this a while back in my Mitsubishi Galant. I was pissed and punched the wheel and sure enough the horn would not shut off. There were people everywhere since a college football game had just ended. I finally had to pull the fuse out to get it to stop. About a month later I was rear-ended on the freeway and my car was totaled, so I decided to get a KJ. Lesson learned: never punch the wheel.

Just check the horns by running 2 wires directly from the battery + _ (or a jumper battery). Touch them to the terminals on the horn and see if it sounds. Might want to disconect them from the main harness first though so u don't get any feedback of current.

Yeah 10-4....especially when in a marked public vehicle and while in uniform.
