Hello, the A/C clutch on my 05 Liberty has gone bad and I wont have the funds to replace the compressor assy for quite a while. Would anybody know the correct length serpentine belt to use so I can by pass the compressor? The engine is a 3.7. Thanks in advance for any assistance.....

There are quite a few people on here that carry a spare short belt to help with your issue. Me being a CRD owner cant answer your question but wanted to let you know there are people here with the answer. And welcome to LOST there is tons of information on here about everything Liberty.

Thanks for the welcome and info. Actually, the Jeep Liberty is my daughters, I am the designated dad/mechanic. Again, thanks. We will be getting the short [dayco 5050658] to be replaced this week, when the weather gets above zero.... I see it appears that some of the mounting bolts have to be altered/changed for clearance??? Is this correct???:D

When mine went out I was almost 2,000 miles from home. I just removed all the mounting bolts on the compressor, pryed it up just enough so I could put the bottom bolt back though the compressor above the mounting hole. That held it up just enough to miss the new shorter belt. And drove it all the way home without any more problems.
