I have an 06 Liberty CRD. I haven't had it very long and have a 0299 code which is 'Turbo under boost'. From the checking I have done is good chance it is the EGR related. In looking for an answer,, I have discoverd that the the EGR's on these rigs, are a real problem child. In looking for a way to take the EGR out of the system without haveing a code showing, discovered,, Greendieselengineering.net or com. They can reflash the engine brain to 3 differant tunes of which I want the lowest power one, ECO tune. It is supposed to be better on fuel consuption and more power.
MY QUESTION IS; has anyone else out there used these guys to reflash the brain and how is it working for you? Fuel,, power? I want to do this mainly to take the EGR out of the loop, and better fuel mileage would be great.

Thanks for any input, Barnstormer

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to read the noob guide.

P0299 is usually caused by ruptured boost hoses. P0299 AND 0401 is more typically caused by a bad EGR.

Check your boost hoses, and be sure to read the noob guide.

I installed the Greendiesel Eng. tune ECO,,and for the most part the p0299 code has went away. I still get a CEL now and then which I will read it, to see if it is the p0299,,, next time it comes in. I did pull the Map sensor out and clean it as it was soo sooted up there is no way air could pass through it, to operate properly. The fuel mileage was about the same with this first tank of fuel after the tune,, but with the weather has beenchangeing from teens cold to 50 deg.,, I think it is hard to compare. I will compare with and without the tune on the next 250 mile trip when I get the next chance.

I stepped on the gas hard one day and a ton of smoke came out. I did the 0-60 full throttle 5 times, and by the 4 time, the exhaust was pretty clear. WOW I can't believe that it was that plugged up. It should stay cleaner now that the EGR in NOT in the loop.
