Hey guys, after about a little better than a year I got my new RL rear bumper! However I didn't get a license plate relocation bracket. Anyone know where I can get my hands on one. Tried communicating with Marty, but still haven't heard back. Love the bumper! but only a matter of time before a cop gets me for no tag light. |

I am working on that right now because i am in the same boat you are and Marty has been in contact with me before he moved. But since then I haven't heard anything from him so I am going to use our router at work to make my own. I am still working on my lighting though and do you still have the stock rear tire carrier on you KJ. |

I do still have the stock carrier. Kinda pissed that it said the bunper would accomdate up to a 32" tire on the stock carrier, but it wasnt even close. After some modifing its worked out but.. Still. Ive seen a couple online but theyre like 70-90 bucks. They look like theyll work, but thats more than i want to spend on something that was supposed to be included. |

Not using mine, mounted my plate down on the bumper itself since I have the swing out ran a strip of LEDs across the bottom of the bumper |

I like the Poison Spyder kit because it includes an electrical weatherpak connector and 6’ feet of wire. The kit uses LED bulbs for the license plate light and has three more LED's as a third brake light. It mounts to the two upper or lower bolt holes in the license plate. I also like the fact that LED's provide a bright light with a low power draw. LED License Plate & 3rd Brake Light with 6' Extension Harness Part # 41-04-LP6 Cost: 49.00 poisonspyder.com |

But what else do you do when you want a rear bumper that no one else makes? And, RL’s products are some of the very best, if not the best.

ordered a front bumper fully knowing i'd wait much longer then the estimated time. going on 4 or 5 months now, not to concerned really. last i heard is that it was basically done, and then he had to go through the move. unsure of it's current status. |

501 wrote: Seems like he isn't any better than that Sun coast guy. I think the difference is pretty clear. SC made a beautiful front bumper, and as far as I know, the structural integrity was good. In my opinion, it was one of the best looking front bumpers made. The difference is that SC only produced and sold a few bumpers. Life issues took hold and SC had a hard time filling orders and eventually stopped communication all together to never produce them again. RL has made hundreds of products; including rock rails, roof racks, front bumpers, rear bumpers, and the SFA belly pan. He has made products for the XJ, KJ, and KK. RL has worked with Marlin (JBA) to test and give advice on Marlin’s lift kits. RL sells Frankenlift Kits and installs them as well. The similarity is that they were both small one man businesses who operated out of their homes. They both were custom shops who also held down a daytime job. RL is the only one who still designs, produces, and ships out custom KJ and KK products despite his heavy demand from customers. On average, he may get several up to a dozen phone calls per week wanting custom parts, etc. I know for a fact that Mopar Skunkworks department called and asked if he would make a few custom parts for one of their SEMA and show Jeeps. Marty had the integrity to say “no” because he had too much customer demand. The fact is, it’s easy to complain. Trust me, I didn’t want to wait two years for a rear bumper. I’m just thankful that RL still makes products and it can be bought. The timeline might not be when you want it, and if so, then people shouldn’t buy at all.

Your right Deisel and I owe Marty an appology I took the bait from the personal attack from JL Rockie and stooped down and attacked Marty. I know life sometimes gets in the way and things happen. I unforchantly got in with him at the wrong time. I just don't understand why JL gets away with his personal attacks, one would think the mods would either put a stop to it or ban him from the site. But I guess it is what it is. Sorry for the bad comments Marty and hopefully when things settled down for you we might do some business. |
