I'm installing a hitch, and I need to move the exhaust over a little bit. The instructions say "unhook the rubber exhaust hanger and push the exhaust pipe to the side", but I can't for the life of me figure out how to disconnect it.

help!!

If I remember right I just pushed mine over while I shoved the hitch up around it. Never had to take anything loose or off. Hitch just kind of slid up in and around the exhaust. Try it and I think you will find it will go.

it will. But there's already a bolt there that is holding the gas tank skid on. I need to get that bolt off before it will fit.

I just went out and got an 18mm crescent wrench and I'm going to take the tire off and go in that way. I think that will work.

Most hitches only use 2 bolts on each side, and thus no problem. This one takes 3, and it's a PITA. (but I bet it will be pretty strong)

My hitch only uses 2 bolts on each side, so those front ones are only used by the skid. I ended up putting both the skid and hitch on at the same time. I couldn't get a socket around that bolt, so I just left it off. I figure I have five of the six bolts (four of which go through the hitch as well), that skid ain't going nowhere. Maybe someday I'll get around to putting it in.

I got it! For-friggin-finally! I spent more money on tools to do it than I spent on the hitch! ($27 breaker bar, $5 18mm socket, $15 18mm crescent - Hitch was only $50) This hitch is some kind of sturdy, 6 bolts to the frame oughta do-er! It looks real nice, too, it's one of those hidden-hitch type deals where just the receiver sticks out below the bumper.

Taking the right-rear tire off and going in through the side with an 18mm crescent wrench did the trick. I got that bolt off no problem!

Thanks for calling to make sure I got it, Tim. Sorry my phone cut out on you at the end, I guess my battery was dying. See you guys up in NH tomorrow!
