| Post subject: | Water accumulating inside cab while I run AC |
Hey guys, I have water accumulating inside the cab whenever I run the AC (tons of it actually). You can clearly see it running down the firewall on the passenger side. I assume there is a small drain pan inside the firewall that isn’t draining properly. It looks like I would have to disassemble half the car to get up there! Does anyone have tips on how to get access to the drain pan in question? Anyone dealt with this before? Thanks in advance

On the firewall (engine side) directly behind where you are talking about there is a small rubber hose with a 90* bend in it. I assume this is where the condensation is supposed to be coming out. Maybe take a look at that and see if it is clogged. |

back to dealer for warranty if there is any left had that happen to my 04 over summer it stank dealer fixed and steam cleaned the carpet |

This is a not uncommon A/C problem, especially in Chryslers for some reason. Once that discharge tube gets blocked, your musty smell may be from stuff growing inside of the box and not just the wet carpet. A dealer trip, if under warranty, is the best step. |

From what I remember they said one of the hoses worked loose on the AC drain so when your AC is on the condensation has no where to go but on to the carpet, there has been a Few KJ's Downunder that I know of with this Fault |

Turns out the 90 degree elbow that is on the drain (outside the firewall) fell off. Apparently this causes water to back up instead of drain. There is a bulletin concerning the problem. |

Does anyone have more detail on the elbow joint location and problem over all? At first I thought it was the weather stripping between the hood and the firewall, but since that's been replaced water is still getting in to the passenger side carpet. I typically have my venting set to defrost and floor, so I'm assuming the air conditioning is running to dry the air. In the furture  , I'll only use when needed to defrost.

On CRD it the drain would be a bit down on the firewall more or less below the coolant tank. It's not uncommon for the drain tube to get clogged and yes on all modern vehicles I know of the AC compressor runs in Defrost and floor modes to dry the air. |

Yeah, your drain tube might have been clogged. Air compressor is a part which has a lot of usage, it compresses refrigerant and sends it to your car's air condenser, so always maintain it. I think, the main problem is with your drive belt which is not powering the whole process of compressing refrigerant. You should take the help from air conditioning repair port saint lucie technicians who are expert in this field. |
