When I bought my Liberty Renegade I had a few bumps in the road. At 1800 miles I started to have numerous problems and I hope this sheds some light to anyone who runs into the same situation.

My first trip for repair was at 1800 miles for my Rene stalling upon startup. The Dealer replaced a Scim module after holding my Rene hostage for a week and they had to replace the battery, which died there. 2 days later.. she stalls again, but this time my TPM system is not recognizing my tires. In the shop she goes.. once more. After a few days, she is returned to me. I am told this time, it's the Transponder. I'm quite irritated by this point and I'm thinking.. have I purchased a Lemon? I really liked my Rene.. but I can't handle this with a brand new vehicle! I head up to Pa for the weekend and everything is looking fine.. or so I thought. By the end of the weekend she stalls on me again.. I am irate at this point.. my face turned as red as my hair and I was out for blood! I pull into a Wawa to get a coffee for the trip ahead and upon start up, my check engine light turns on!! Well I was returning home with this light on the entire time.. watching to make sure it doesn't blink.. leaving messages on the Salesman’s cell phone on how ticked off I am. This was on bad night and I was ready to give up on her!

The following day, I strolled on in and went straight to the Service Director. Telling him this was his final time to get this repaired or I would be demanding a new vehicle! Too much headache.. I have less than 2000 miles! After a few days wait I was told that the Window breaking sensors (which they talked me into purchasing) were conflicting with the computer in my Jeep and they had to be removed. The Dealer stated it was an outside vendor who installs these and they never had a problem with the other Chrysler products conflicting with the sensors.

Almost 3 weeks with my Rene in for repairs. Hopefully I don't have to go back for a very long time!

I have not had any problems since the sensors were removed. There is still hope for my Rene! I never wanted to give her up.

Wonder how many West coasters are wondering WTH a WAWA is?!?! :-)r
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope they got it fixed for good.
My KJ was in the shop after 600 miles for a trans speed sensor failure. Must have been that first trip of wheelin that killed it.

Sorry to hear that... lots of bad luck.

I've been in that situation with another vechile and it's frustrating.

Hopefully you don't have anymore problems, if you do you may want to press and just get another KJ before it's too late and the miles get too high.

I hope that's the end of it! I want to have fun in my new Rene, not live at a dealership!

Great coffee and hoagie's that are made right, not made as a sub.
Although after reading this thread I know have that old theme song stuck in my head...."We do it a little bit better...Wawa"

Sorry to hear about your Problems. I bought mine in Nov. I have 10k on it and so far no problems. I've been back only for the scheduled oil changes. Hope yours is now fixed properly.

You should demand free oil changes and maintenance checks for a couple years for the headache they caused you.....unless you paid for that service contract, then ask for free Jeep gear.
