Post subject:  brake upgrade question

Hello Lost Community,

I've a quick question for you all. I'm going to be taking the wheels off to inspect the brakes this weekend and am debating what to do if I need to replace the pads. I've been toying with the idea of upgrading the brakes and rotors. Using the wonderful search function I've found that nobody has anything really bad to say about Powerstop or EBC slotted/dimpled rotors so I may upgrade to them and get nicer pads too.

I know to replace both front or rear pads at the same time, and the same with rotors. But, my question is if I choose to upgrade do I have to replace all 4 wheels' pads/rotors at the same time? Or could I just upgrade the front if they are worn, then wait til the back go and replace them at a later date?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jordan

I had EBC Ultimax pads (their OEM line) and Raybestos professional rotors up front on my last liberty. I was impressed with the stopping performance. Rears were still mopar value lines.

You can replace them piece by piece but if you are going to do the front then back do pads and rotors. And don't pair expensive pads with cheap rotors or the other way around. Go with the same quality pads and rotors preferable even the same company. I have EBC slotted with green stuff pads all the way around and mine stops like I am hitting a brick wall. I have heard nothing but good things about power slot or the cryo rotors and I can attest to EBC.
