Post subject: | Fine tuning a Scangauge |
I've been using a Scangauge II for the last 6 months to help me drive more economically, and it's been a great help. It lets me know my immediate fuel economy as well as my average. I know several others on LOST have a Scangauge, and this question is for you: Have you ever been able to calibrate the Scangauge so that it's always accurate? I calibrate mine after fuel fill-ups, following the directions in the owners manual. After calibration: If the tank was mostly highway, the miles per gallon displayed on the Scangauge will be accurate for the highway but overestimate my city mileage. If the tank was mostly city and I calibrate the Scangauge, the mpgs displayed for the city will be accurate but it will underestimate my mileage on the highway. I'd love to figure out how to set up the Scangauge to make both city and highway mileage accurate at the same time. If you think you've got your Scangauge accurate for both city and highway trips, would you please post your Scangauge's settings? Thanks! |
