Hi everyone, I thought I'd post here, as KJ's and KK's have basically there same front suspension.

When I hit bumps there is a rattling sound from the front driver's side area. I usually only hear it when my window is down, and it's easier to hear over small bumps at ~30 mph, not at highway speed or over large bumps. It's more of a rattle than a clunk.

I checked the front suspension by yanking on various parts, and I can't make it rattle by hand. Nothing moves. However, I noticed this on the driver's side:

The connection between the stabilizer bar and the driver's side way bar link looks loose and at an angle to me. (The passenger's side looks tight and even.) Do you all agree? Do you think this could be the source of the rattling? Any tips for tightening this bolt up? (raise the jeep up or not, use pb blaster to loosen the threads, etc.?)

Thanks for your help!

Well, to follow up, I can't get anything to budge. Nothing in the front suspension seems loose, and there's no evidence of any metal on metal contact (except for the noise when I hit bumps!). Anyone got any other ideas?

Not sure because these types of things are hard to tell where the rattle is coming from. I can tell you though, I doubt any of those parts you can rattle by hand even if they are loose. Only thing I can think of is to find out what all the torque specs are for each bolt and go over them all with a torque wrench. Also inspect for bad bushings.

I have found sway bar end links to make a loose sort of rattle when they are worn. They should be fairly cheap so you could throw a set on there to see if it makes a difference without risking too much coin. When my upper ball joints were loose they made a noise somewhere between a clunk and a rattle, though you felt it as much as you heard it.
